Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations “Principles of Conduct for Insurance Intermediaries”
The Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organization (CISRO) is a forum of Canadian regulatory authorities who are dedicated to consistent qualifications and conduct of business standards for insurance intermediaries. The mission of this organization is to collaborate on initiatives that support a consistent approach to consumer protection through the regulation of insurance intermediaries.
Earlier this year the CISRO published the “Principles of Conduct for Insurance Intermediaries” to help ensure the fair treatment of customers in the life & health and property & casualty insurance sectors. This document outlines minimum regulatory conduct standards and common regulator expectations for all insurance intermediaries regarding the fair treatment of customers.

RIBO Consumer Rights Fact Sheet
The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO), Ontario’s governing body for the conduct of licensed insurance brokers in Ontario, has issued an update with facts about registered insurance brokers and information about customers’ rights and obligations throughout the insurance process. These principles apply to all insurance brokers across Canada.
