Tony Petrilli

Managing Director, Head of Risk Engineering

Tony Petrilli is a member of the Risk Engineering team, delivering technically focused support to clients as part of Platform’s commitment to its specialty businesses. Tony has over 35 years of loss control experience in the insurance industry as a professional engineer. This includes account management, field engineering and project support for operating and under construction facilities focused on the natural resource and large complex industries segments. He has held several roles while with large insurer and broker companies, taking on increasing responsibilities for major accounts. With respect to the activities and industries that the North American Construction Group specialises in, Tony has experience in oil and gas, mining, and civil construction. He has worked with numerous clients including Cenovus SAGD plant expansions and Enbridge pipeline projects in Canada, Rio Tinto’s Diavik Diamond Mine and Oyu Tolgoi Mine in Mongolia, and landmark infrastructure such as Montreal’s Highway A-30 and the New Quito International Airport in Ecuador.

Fraser Hui

With over 20 years of progressive HR leadership experience, Fraser joins as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. He brings extensive experience across financial services, insurance, private equity, and professional services. In this role, Fraser partners with the executive team to architect and execute the people strategy that will fuel Platform’s next stage of growth. His mandate spans positioning HR as a true strategic business partner, designing workforce architecture, building the compensation frameworks, leadership depth, and talent programs needed to scale a high-performing, people-first brokerage.

Darrell Rose

Executive Director, Risk Engineering

With over 40 years experience in risk engineering consulting, Darrell provides risk consulting, risk analysis, hazard control, loss prevention, and risk mitigation services to our clients, specializing in the energy and power generation industry throughout North America and the world. This includes Insurance Risk Surveys, Operational Risk Management, Facility Construction consulting, Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), and Due Diligence/Acquisition activities across this sector. Darrell has wide experience in the insurance survey and risk assessment fields, having conducted numerous surveys, QRA, PSM consulting, project development, construction consulting and support for large ultinational oil, gas, petrochemical, pipeline, and power generation companies. This has included upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, both onshore and offshore, and power generation facilities, both conventional and renewable, around the world. He is verse with the use of consequence and risk analysis software tools to support projects and operations.

Kurtis Pedersen

Executive Director, Strategic Risks

Kurtis Pedersen is an insurance professional with over 13 years of experience in complex energy and large-scale risk programs. He has been closely involved in the design and implementation of multinational insurance programs, with a strong focus on alternative risk financing tools such as captives and Everen. His career also includes extensive work with risk management teams as both an employee and an outsourced risk specialist, providing him with unique insight from both client and brokerage perspectives.

Kurtis has deep experience with taxation and regulation of Canadian and global insurance placements, having developed specialized models to streamline the filing and remittance of taxes on hundreds of millions of dollars in annual premium. In his role supporting the Global Business Division at another major national brokerage, he managed cross-border placements from U.S. and international brokerages into Canada, ensuring compliance with Canadian standards and requirements. Kurtis holds the Canadian Risk Manager (CRM) designation and is known for combining technical expertise with practical solutions to help organizations navigate regulatory complexity and achieve efficient outcomes in highly regulated environments.

Braedy Walker

Executive Director, Alternative Risk Transfer

With over a decade of experience in alternative risk and captive insurance, Braedy brings a deep understanding of innovative risk financing strategies and client-focused execution. He began his career at a managing general agent (MGA) specializing in cyber insurance, where he developed a strong foundation in emerging risk lines. He then joined Integro Insurance Brokers as the second-in-command on their captive insurance team, where he gained hands-on experience in the setup, management, and optimization of captive programs. After Integro was acquired by Hub International, Braedy was promoted to Practice Leader of the national captive team, which he grew from 2 to 10 professionals while overseeing over 60% of all captives established by Canadian companies as the client base expanded from 15 to nearly 50. Now serving as Executive Director, Alternative Risk Transfer at Platform, Braedy is focused on helping clients minimize their risk through creative, outside-the-box solutions. He leverages unique financial instruments to ensure clients are protected against downside risk while unlocking long-term value.

Chandra Kamiel

Executive Director, Team Lead, Real Assets

Chandra brings over a decade of experience in underwriting and client advisory roles, with a strong focus on the real estate sector. She began her career at Liberty Mutual, managing some of Canada’s largest real estate portfolios, and later launched the Specialty Lines Division at Economical Insurance. She returned to real estate as a senior underwriter at Intact Insurance, where she managed a portfolio acquired from AXA Canada and led a small underwriting team, further developing her leadership and technical expertise. In 2014, Chandra transitioned to the brokerage side, joining Gallagher as the account lead for a major real estate portfolio. She later moved to Marsh Canada as Assistant Vice President, supporting large corporate clients with complex insurance needs. Now serving as Executive Director, Team Lead in the Real Assets group at Platform, Chandra leverages her deep underwriting background and client-first approach to deliver creative, tailored real estate solutions with a strong emphasis on service excellence.

Angela Hart

Executive Director, Natural Resources

Angela is a skilled broker with over 19 years of experience specializing in building programs and finding solutions for large, risk-managed clients across a diverse set of industries. Angela has developed and implemented comprehensive insurance strategies that address complex risks and drive business resilience through varied market conditions and cycles. Known for deep industry liability knowledge and strategic insight, she excels in delivering tailored coverage that meets the unique needs of her clients. Prior to joining Platform, Angela had spent her career with a large global brokerage; beginning as an intern and holding various positions in client servicing and management, financial lines, and general practice broking before spending the last 10 years focusing on large casualty placements.

Sylvia Pockert

Executive Director, Team Lead, Natural Resources

Sylvia Pockert is an Executive Director and Team Lead within the Natural Resources group at Platform and a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) with over 47 years of experience in the insurance industry. She brings a uniquely diverse background across operations, accounting, and brokerage. She has spent more than three decades as a broker, specializing in global insurance programs, regulatory compliance, unlicensed insurance tax matters, captives, and premium allocation methodologies. Sylvia is particularly recognized for her technical expertise in structuring complex multinational placements and navigating jurisdictional regulatory and tax requirements.

Throughout her career, Sylvia has worked extensively on large multinational accounts, including long-standing involvement with Rio Tinto (Alcan) and Bombardier, supporting these organizations over periods exceeding a decade each across operations in more than 40 countries. Her strong accounting foundation is a key differentiator, enabling a deep understanding of the financial and transactional intricacies underlying global insurance programs and enhancing her ability to manage technically demanding and highly structured placements.

Caroline Dufault

Executive Director, Industrials

Caroline is a seasoned insurance executive with over 30 years of experience, specializing in construction-based insurance. Currently serves as Executive Director in the Industrial group, she brings deep expertise in risk management and strategic insurance solutions for complex infrastructure projects. Caroline has held leadership roles at Marsh and NFP, where she led high-performing teams and drove client growth. She is known for her collaborative leadership and ability to deliver innovative, client-centric solutions.

Sylvain Hamel

Executive Director, Industrials

As Executive Director within the Industrials group, Sylvain Hamel brings extensive industry expertise to the Complex Risk Solutions Group of Platform Quebec Insurance Brokers. Sylvain has over 30 years of experience in Risk Management and insurance. He has held various functions from Underwriter to Agency Manager and Risk Consultant, developing an in-depth specialization in global insurance programs for multinational organizations in the USA, Canada and abroad, giving him excellent perspective from both sides of the insurer/broker equation. While working in the USA, Sylvain developed keen insight and proficiency in Workers Compensation insurance underwriting and placement. He contributed to the design, structure and creation of innovative solutions, using alternative risk financing methods for the benefit of large organizations. Other key abilities include expertise with clients involved in transportation and logistics, construction, retail, food industry, pulp & paper, forest products, power generation and heavy manufacturing.

Suzy Pires

Suzy is an Executive Director within the Industrials group at Platform with over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She specializes in the manufacturing sector, leading client relationships and delivering streamlined service to companies across Canada and international borders. Prior to joining Platform in September 2025, she spent several years at international brokerages, where she developed a strong foundation in property, casualty and product recall advisory. Suzy aligns complex risk solutions and insurance products for clients that strengthen risk management and optimize risk resilience.

Devlyn Little

Vice President, Operations & Client Success, Platform Benefits

Devlyn brings 14 years of industry experience, with experiance in Benefits & Wellness, Retirement, Health Spending Accounts (HSA), Total Rewards, Compliance & Risk Management, and Client Success. She is known for delivering thoughtful, strategic solutions that enhance both employer and employee experiences, while ensuring programs are optimized, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.

Shaighan is a fully qualified Actuary and has excelled in the Benefits Consulting industry for 12 years. He spent 8 years at Aon, servicing some of their largest and most complex accounts, consistently delivering high-impact solutions. Currently, he leads the Actuarial team at Platform, where he specializes in addressing intricate client needs through datadriven strategies and advanced analytics. He is known for his ability to translate complex actuarial insights into actionable business outcomes. His leadership is grounded in a commitment to excellence, timely execution, and expert guidance. Jamie Gruenspan

Controller, Finance

Jamie Gruenspan is a CPA, CA who began her career at a Big Four accounting firm, earning her designation in 2015. With a strong foundation in public accounting, Jamie has developed deep expertise in financial reporting, controls, and a focus on maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Since joining the insurance industry in 2019, Jamie has built specialized experience within fiduciary accounting and is recognized for a detail oriented, analytical approach and commitment to operational excellence. Jamie plays a key role in supporting financial integrity and continuous improvement across the organization.

Diane Lu

Vice President, Finance

Diane Lu is a CPA with over 15 years of experience across the real estate, asset management, and insurance industries. She brings a strong background in financial reporting and analysis, operational efficiency, and performance optimization, with a proven ability to manage complex financial portfolios and drive meaningful business results.

Jessica Traynor

Vice President, Data & Technology

Jessica Traynor is a senior technology and intelligence leader with over 20 years of experience across the insurance and financial services sectors. As Vice President of Data & Technology at Platform, she leads enterprise data strategy, business intelligence, IT operations, and system integration. Her expertise includes analytics transformation, reporting modernization, CRM/EPIC optimization, and technology governance, with a strong foundation in finance that informs her focus on driving data-enabled performance and measurable business outcomes.

Jessica brings a diverse background spanning finance, operations, and technology leadership, with a track record of aligning complex initiatives to strategic business priorities. She currently serves on the Applied Client Network Board of Directors and is a former Canadian Alliance Leader, contributing to the advancement of data and technology practices across the industry. Known for her structured approach and collaborative leadership style, she excels at leading cross-functional teams and delivering impactful transformation.

Michelle Quenneville

Senior Vice President, Operations

Michelle Quenneville brings over 30 years of insurance industry experience, with deep expertise in operational excellence, system optimization, and workflow design. She plays a key role in advancing organizational efficiency at Platform, with a strong focus on standardizing processes, enhancing the Epic broker management system, and supporting scalable, high-performing operations across the business. Michelle began her career in group benefits at Manulife, paying health and dental claims for large contracts, before moving to The Co-operators, where she managed a personal lines portfolio. She later joined a regional brokerage, where she spent over two decades progressing through increasingly senior roles. Starting as an Account Manager supporting industries such as trucking, construction, manufacturing, and retail, she transitioned into a placement role negotiating complex insurance programs for large clients. She ultimately served as Director of Commercial, overseeing servicing operations, claims, wholesale distribution, and market relationships across a multi-branch network. As a member of the senior leadership team, she also represented the brokerage on the Epic Steering Committee during a three-phase implementation project, helping deliver the system rollout to more than 450 employees across multiple lines of business.

In her current role as Senior Vice President of Operations at Platform, Michelle leads operational strategy and process optimization initiatives across the organization. She is focused on driving consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement, ensuring teams are supported by streamlined workflows and technology to deliver exceptional client service.

Michael Noonan

Senior Vice President & General Counsel

Michael brings over 15 years of legal experience to his role as Senior Vice President & General Counsel at Platform, where he oversees the company’s in-house legal matters and advises clients on insurance law issues and complex, high-value claims.

He began his legal career at Cassels Brock LLP, focusing on the financial services industry, before joining Aviva Insurance as part of its in-house legal and compliance team for more than three years. His combined experience in private practice and the insurance sector provides clients with practical, strategic guidance across a broad range of legal and risk-related matters.

Gaurav Kapoor

Senior Vice President & Chief of Staff

Gaurav is an insurance executive with over a decade of experience in the insurance and risk management industry, spanning the Canadian, UK, and US markets. He specializes in the construction and infrastructure sectors, with expertise in strategic planning, digital transformation, and operational efficiency. Gaurav currently serves as Senior Vice President & Chief of Staff, where he plays a key role in driving strategic initiatives and supporting enterprise-wide operations. At NFP, he previously served as Head of Strategy, Digital & Operations for the Construction & Infrastructure Group, where he spearheaded the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and digital platforms. Prior to that, during his 10-year tenure at Marsh, he held several leadership roles, including Global Strategy & Operations Leader for the Construction Specialty Practice in London, UK, and National Project Risk Leader for the Canadian Construction Practice. In these roles, Gaurav has consistently demonstrated leadership in mentoring teams, driving innovation, and aligning operational strategies with business goals. He is also actively engaged in the industry and maintains strong relationships with carriers and professional networks.

David Bowcott

Executive Vice President, Client Engagement

David is an insurance executive with over three decades of experience advising Canada’s largest construction and infrastructure clients. He held several senior roles at Aon, including Global Chief Commercial Officer for its Construction & Infrastructure Group, before joining Platform as Executive Vice President of Client Engagement. At Platform, David leads national strategy and client engagement across the construction and infrastructure sector, helping contractors, developers, and owners optimize risk throughout the full project lifecycle. He applies a structured advisory approach across contractual, operational, technology, and risk finance domains, delivering data-driven solutions that reduce total cost of risk and support long-term project success. Outside of his role at Platform, David is active within various industry associations, including serving as a board member with the Canadian Construction Association and the Institute of Asset Management. He also advises several innovation-focused groups, contributes regularly to industry publications, and continues to champion the integration of technology and analytics in construction risk management.

Brett Flande

Executive Director, Claims

Brett entered the insurance industry in the early 2000’s taking a position in underwriting with Everen in Hamilton, Bermuda. Shortly thereafter Brett was tasked with managing the claims teams for both Everen and Everen Specialty, having oversight of all high exposure and complex Property and Casualty claims for the Group. In the early 2010’s, Brett moved to Houston, Texas to take up a senior onshore adjusting role with Charles Taylor Adjusting. Brett then took a position with Aon as the Head of Energy Claims for the USA, sat on Aon’s U.S. Claims Governance and Escalation Board and ultimately responsible for all Property & Casualty claims arising out of Aon’s US and Canadian Energy book of business. In 2021, Brett joined a specialist insurance group within NFP and since 2025, as part of the Platform Team.

Throughout his insurance career, Brett has had the opportunity to work with Fortune 500 executives on a range of complex, technical property and casualty insurance matters. In addition to setting strategy and leading complex negotiations for and with many of the top energy companies around the world, Brett has built up extensive experience with the application of insurance contractual wordings. Brett has collaborated on major projects for leading energy and industrial companies, including Cenovus, Suncor, Chevron, TC Energy, and Bruce Power, as well as global firms like Air Liquide and Cheniere Energy, delivering marketing and design support across oil & gas, power generation, and infrastructure sectors.

David Ferringo

Executive Director, Claims Team Lead

As Executive Director, Claims Team Lead at Platform, David brings over 25 years of experience in claims management and advocacy across North America, specializing in complex claims related to commercial real estate, construction, and infrastructure, bringing deep expertise in policy interpretation, strategic negotiation, and carrier engagement. Prior to joining Platform, David held senior roles at HUB International and Aviva Canada, where he led high-performing teams and managed high-stakes claims with a focus on resolution and client advocacy. At Platform, David leads the firm’s claims strategy, working closely with clients, insurers, and service providers to deliver efficient, outcome-driven solutions. He is known for his ability to navigate contract disputes, delays, and quality issues, while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience and service-level performance. Jelena Stojanovic

Ryan Matheson

Ryan brings over 23 years of experience as a market broker, with a specialized focus on large and complex construction risk. Currently serving as Executive Director, Construction Product Lead, Broking & Markets at Platform, he continues a leadership role he previously held at a major national brokerage, where he was instrumental in shaping placement strategies for high-value construction accounts. Throughout his career, Ryan has worked on major project portfolios across Canada, spanning sectors such as power, mining, P3/AFP infrastructure, civil works, commercial developments, and residential construction. His expertise lies in navigating the intricacies of large-scale infrastructure placements, where he collaborates closely with clients, insurers, and project stakeholders to deliver tailored, high-performance insurance solutions. Karen has a strong technical knowledge of wording and coverages. Karen is actively engaged in the industry and maintains strong relationships with carriers in Canada and in the International Market.

Scott Saddington

Executive Vice President, Broking & Markets

Scott is a senior insurance executive with over 30 years of experience spanning domestic and international markets. At Platform, as part of the Executive Committee, Scott leads the Brokerage Placement Team and insurance carrier relationships, as well as determining our London/Bermuda wholesale strategy. His career includes leadership roles in both broking and underwriting across major global hubs such as Toronto, Los Angeles, New York City, Sydney, and London. He has held senior positions at AIG, Munich Re, Liberty Mutual, Willis Towers Watson, and NFP – where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director – and founded two specialty MGAs in Canada.

With a background that began in banking and credit markets, Scott brings a unique financial lens to insurance strategy. He has a proven track record of enhancing market-leading businesses, turning around underperforming operations, and launching successful new lines. His expertise spans all lines of insurance, with a particular focus on Financial Lines, Professional Liability, International Multi-line Programs, and M&A/Transactional Risk. Scott is known for his ability to lead through change, build and motivate high-performing teams, and implement disciplined, globally aligned strategies. He maintains strong relationships with Lloyd’s of London and Canadian regulators, and is recognized for his collaborative leadership style, stakeholder engagement, and ability to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions in evolving markets.

Thomas Perrino

Executive Director, Construction & Development

Thomas brings over a decade of expertise in insurance, risk management, and law, with a focus on the construction and infrastructure sector. He has held key roles in in-house insurance and risk management at Pomerleau and CN, handled professional liability claims at Swiss Re, and served as a defense attorney and coverage counsel at Clyde & Co.
